Rap artists have done it.
Now Universal Indie Records and Double-Up Entertainment have come up with an ambitious plan to issue a new instrumental album every two weeks for the year of 2010. The « Tasty Beatz » series is the brainchild of French producers DJ King Flow & DJ PLK and features smooth and soulful hip hop grooves.
« I’m 16 and PLK is 17. We’re both from the city Orleans and we’ve been friends since we were 14 years old so it was only natural that we’d came together to do a project. » states Flow. « We’re doing jazzy/soulful instrumentals. PLK has more of a feeling to his instrumentals and mines are more like Madlib or MF Doom. »
