NXT plc, a provider of unique sound solutions, best known for its flat panel loudspeaker technology, held its annual press introduction today at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This year’s event featured Peter Thoms, NXT’s chief executive officer, introducing three NXT partners – Nissha Printing Co., Ltd., Tunebug (SVG), and HK-based manufacturer Koda – to demonstrate their products incorporating NXT proprietary technologies.

TouchSound – Licensed exclusively to Nissha in Dec. 2008 for small touch screen applications, TouchSound technology combines tactile feedback from touch screens which also function as loudspeakers.

In addition to simulating the feel of writing on paper while using a stylus on a touch screen surface, this year’s innovations include a demonstration of multi-touch feedback capability, enabling separate tactile feedback sensations when two or more fingers or styli are in contact with the touch screen.

TuneBug – Market availability of TuneBug speakers, featuring NXT’s award-winning SurfaceSound technology, was also announced at the breakfast event.
TuneBug speakers are highly portable sound generators that connect to audio sources via a 3.5mm input or Bluetooth to transform several flat surfaces into loudspeakers.
TuneBug Vibe is available now from selected stockists while the Bluetooth-enabled version, TuneBug Shake, launches in March.

KODA – Key NXT manufacturing licensee KODA Electronics took the opportunity to unveil numerous new product designs at the media event including travel speakers, Works with iPhone speakers and premium audio concepts.

Balanced Mode Radiator – Attendees were also able to audition the recently launched Naim Ovator S-600 speakers, featuring NXT’s premium audio technology, Balanced Mode Radiator.
In addition, NXT presented a wide range of new open model designs equipped with BMR drivers including wireless speakers and DSP-equipped audio solutions.
Elsewhere at the show, attendees have been experiencing two new NXT-based products honored at the CES 2010 Innovations Awards. Recognised among the Best of CES award-winners, Hybra’s O.R.B is a stylish Bluetooth on-ear headset that converts to a wearable finger ring equipped with NXT’s piezo-electric Distributed Mode Actuator. Canadian wireless audio specialist Eleven Engineering was also among the winners with its BMR-equipped Cecille wireless speakers.

Mr. Thoms, said, “We’re entering an entirely new phase, both with our branded products and with our business partners. We see our products increasingly garnering attention from consumers and potential partners – and we’re thrilled to be bringing such a broad array of products to market in 2010.”
